My canon powershot camera goes to set the date and time every time I turn it on. I set the date and time, take a few pictures, turn off the camera, turn it back on again and it ask for the date and time to be set again. This problem developed after a year and a half of no problems. Card and batt. I sent the first one back because i thought it was the camera but the new one is doing the same thing. Something about setting the time zone is messed up. It will not set to the proper am or pm.

If i set it at 4:30 in the afternoon the time zone time will state 4:30 a.m. And when i exit out to the main screen the time on my camera will have then changed to a.m. Instead of p.m. Also you cannot set the clock in the camera to 12 a.m. There is no 12 on the a.m. Choice of the clock.

At any rate, I cannot manipulate the menu to make any settings. I have a flashing update icon for date & time, but cannot set. Also, the zoom control is unresponsive. I have no idea where to get an estimate for a repair & let's face it, the repair would probably cost more then what I can purcahse a new digital SLR camera for with more features than what I paid for the 5700.
