Advertising Policy Specifics When in doubt of whether something you want to post constitutes advertising, please contact a moderator privately in advance for further clarification. Refer to the following points for general guidelines: Horses – Only general discussion about the buying, leasing, selling and pricing of horses is permitted. If the post contains, or links to, the type of specific information typically found in a sales or wanted ad, and it’s related to a horse for sale, regardless of who’s selling it, it doesn’t belong in the discussion forums.

Stallions – Board members may ask for suggestions on breeding stallion recommendations. Stallion owners may reply to such queries by suggesting their own stallions, only if their horse fits the specific criteria of the original poster. Excessive promotion of a stallion by its owner or related parties is not permitted and will be addressed at the discretion of the moderators. Services – Members may use the forums to ask for general recommendations of trainers, barns, shippers, farriers, etc., and other members may answer those requests by suggesting themselves or their company, if their services fulfill the specific criteria of the original post. Members may not solicit other members for business if it is not in response to a direct, genuine query. Products – While members may ask for general opinions and suggestions on equipment, trailers, trucks, etc., they may not list the specific attributes for which they are in the market, as such posts serve as wanted ads.

Event Announcements – Members may post one notification of an upcoming event that may be of interest to fellow members, if the original poster does not benefit financially from the event. Such threads may not be “bumped” excessively. Premium members may post their own notices in the Event Announcements forum.

Charities/Rescues – Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators’ discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances. Occasional posts regarding horses available for adoption through IRS-registered horse rescue or placement programs are permitted in the appropriate forums, but these threads may be limited at the discretion of the moderators. Individuals may not advertise or make announcements for horses in need of rescue, placement or adoption unless the horse is available through a recognized rescue or placement agency or government-run entity or the thread fits the criteria for and is located in the Giveaways forum. Do not post copyrighted photographs unless you have purchased that photo and have permission to do so. Respect other members. As members are often passionate about their beliefs and intentions can easily be misinterpreted in this type of environment, try to explore or resolve the inevitable disagreements that arise in the course of threads calmly and rationally.

Reviews

(Revised 2/8/18). You don't have the year in that information. You've got the serial number, which is the saddle's unique identifier and that it is a PJ Pro, 17' seat, with an A flap (normal, but I believe it is slightly forward. The X is the really forward flap and the L used to be the standard and it is a lot straighter). The 3, I believe is the knee roll information.

It would be medium thickness. I'll check mine today to see if the numbers line up with what I know my saddle to be. I am unsure if this information is the same for the PJ saddles, though. Mine is a BD and they may, although not likely, changed some of their stamping protocol.

Partitions are NOT the 'new PJs'. Bruno Delgrange has always made Partitions. They were marketed by Pierre in the US. Prior to 2009 PJ Pro (sometimes had a P before the seat size) was a partition. It's a semi deep.

PJ Lite (sometimes had a A before the seat size) was an Athena. At the time was the flattest. PJ Original (sometimes had a V before the seat size) was a Virtuose. It's the deep seat. Bruno Delgrange still makes Partitions, Athenas, Virtuoses just as we did before PJ and during our relationship with PJ. Delgrange also makes cross country monoflaps and dressage saddles and have for years. We have added a new Flat saddle called the Rivolli to our line up.

Feel free to ask any other questions. I know it gets a bit confusing, I am here to help.

Saddle

Bruno Delgrange is a famous French saddle maker and makes one of the best hunter jumper saddle lines available. The saddles are designed by famed Olympic trainer Pierre Jolicoeur and are sometimes called PJ saddles.

They were first introduced in the 1980's and have since become a favorite of professional and amateur hunter jumper riders alike. Why, you ask? Bruno Delgrange PJ saddles are close contact saddles but also offer the comfort of squishy, squeezable, balloon-like flaps and usually front and rear blocks. Saddles are a very personal matter, but many riders agree that the design of the Bruno Delgrange PJ saddles create excellent hip-to-heel balance, allowing the rider to feel comfortable and secure in the saddle and improving rider position. There are 3 different versions of the PJ available commercially in the United States.

Custom Bruno Delgrange PJ saddles are also available. The Bruno Delgrange PJ models include: The Original PJ, the PJ Lite, and the PJ Pro (the European equivalent of which is the Partition). The original PJ has a deeper seat than a typical close contact saddle.

The PJ Lite has a shallow, more traditional seat and the PJ Pro has a medium deep seat and is favored by European jumper riders. All Bruno Delgrange PJs are the epitome of leather quality and good craftsmanship.

To own a PJ is a delight and you will find many loyal PJ owners. Another nice feature of these saddles is that each is stamped with a serial number and the size. For example, 951030 is the 1,030th saddle made in 1995. Most PJ saddles tend to run a bit small. Most riders considering a PJ should look for a saddle about ½ a seat larger that your regular size. Bruno Delgrange PJ saddles are pricey like most French saddles.

Pj Usa Saddle

They retail at about $4,000. However, if you invest in a PJ that fits you and your horse well, it might be the tack investment of a lifetime! Also, it is important to note that PJs retain their value very well. It is not uncommon for a used PJ to sell for over $2000. If you are looking for a high end saddle to pamper you and your horse, look no further than the Bruno Delgrange PJ Saddle line.
