Also, how can I call an android video capable mobile phone from Skype on my iPhone. If I use the Acer google based tablet can I call the windows 7 laptop using my account or do I need to set up a separate Skype account on one of these to be able to complete a video call? For several years, my Mac-Skype couldn't delete contacts, so instead I blocked those that I didn't use any more. Now, the latest Mac-Skype can delete, so I am doing a lot of house-cleaning these days.
My iOS-Skype seems to have similar situation; I can not delete (just tested on your behalf). So I suggest that you simply block the contacts that you no longer use. One day, we will have a fresh version of Skype that can do the trick. Please remember - my iOS-Skype is not the newest in town. You can make a quick test: Choose a contact to be deleted. If none present, make a dummy-contact.
Tap the 'settings-wheel' in upper right corner. In my iOS-version, I can block or edit. Maybe newer versions can delete as well. If this answer was helpful, please mark it with Kudos. Here the steps: 1) Launch the Skype app; 2) Tap the 'Call' tab; 3) Dial the number and tap the green call button. Here I can call normally; 4) Exit the Skype app (then, it enters background); 5) take a while. 6) Launch the Skype app again; 7) Tap the 'Call' tab; Dial the number and tap the green call button. THIS TIME, nothing happens. It is as if I did not tap the green button. 9) In order to call again, I have to double click the Home Button on iPhone, enter multitasking, and close the Skype app.
Then launch it fresh, so I can call again. This is obviously a program error, I wonder if Skype employees will see this message.

Like many on this forum, I have been having periodic Internet outages for the last few months. I had Comcast out here about three weeks ago, where they ended up rolling three trucks and rebalancing the node as the signals were way too high, replaced splitters, checking and replacingconnectors, etc.

While the situation marginally improved, my SB5120 modem kept dropping Internet for 4 to 17 seconds 2 to 3 times and hour during the day. After much research, and log entries, every outage was associated with a Dynamic Channel Change (DCC) with an associated T3 Timeout error.
I replaced the modem with a SB6121, and it didn't make a bit of difference. This means every piece of wire, splitter, and connector from the metal housing in the yard, as well as the modem, has been replaced in the last month. All signals are considered 'ideal'. I ended up writing a script to watch the modem's Signal page for a channel change and then capture the latest T3 error from the modem's Log page while pinging the first hop from my modem to Comcast's gateway every second. This reveled I am not in a DOCSIS 3 area (and according to several sources, dispite Comcast's claim, Comcast has only about 70% DOCSIS 3 coverage) and every DCC command from the CMTS resulted in a 3 to 10 second internet outage as the modem changed downstream channels. I have had some outages of 17 to 20 seconds. The DCC command is to be used sparingly for load balancing to move customer to less utilized channels, and never when VOIP, Video, Skype, Audio and many other protocols are in use on a connection.

Comcast has poorly implemented this load balancing, resulting in frequent DCCs and resulting Internet outages. VOIP, VPN, and some other applications take many times the Internet outage to recover, resulting in making VOIP, Gaming, Video streaming problematic or useless. Here are the results of my script running this weekend documenting these outages. I have a beep in the script to alert us of the outages, and every beep while on the VOIP phone resulted in a loss of audio, and when using the VPN to work, some beeps resulted in lost VPN connectivity, requiring me to log into the VPN again and again. But when she logs into Skype on iPhone at the same time using the same Skype name, the Windows edition immediately show her as 'Do not disturb'.
