  • I am running Windows 10 Pro, version 1709, build 16229.125 and have built in Realtek High Definition Audio. Since this version was installed, I have no sound at all.

Every time I am trying to listen to anything with out headphones the announcement “Headphones has been unplugged from audio jack Realtec high definition audio. My problem is I cannot stop realtek from updating and installing,because every time it does (about weekly) I have to go in and uninstall. I have looked for option in windows and realtek to stop the DL and installing and have not found it yet. I am pleased with sound just using windows default driver, I have a hardon kardon speaker set up. I eventually found it, but can’t remember if it was in the device interface – I right clicked the background of the window, not any single one of the choices there, and made it show anything and everything, then it found “unrecognized devices”, I had it try to update their drivers and when it did, the computer suddenly realized that it did actually have sound-related bits in it, and then I just had it automatically update all their drivers and now my sounds are working again. I couldn’t find this in any of the guides, I just thought to adapt one of the suggestions in a different interface and that helped.

Sorry I’m a bit vague on this, but I didn’t write it down at the time. Sir/mam, i had a external mic that connects to 3.5mm jack(it works tested in another laptop n mobile) i done all troubleshooting.MY INTERNAL mic works fine. When i plug in external mic it mutes.

My laptop is sony vaio vpcca35fn – i updated all drivers(realtek) – it shows only one device in microphone list (i have ticked both disabled and disconnected devices) – i adjusted all volume level n mic boost -also my realtek is updated to latest version works fine but its audio manager menu doesn’t appears. One thing I can think of is to make sure you click on the sound icon (bottom right of the lower pane on your screen) and ‘disable’ the one you don’t want to use, and ‘enable’ the one you do. Remember to ‘show disabled’ also, to see what is there but just not visible. The other thing I’ve found, if you change from speaker to headset, or vice-versa, while using a program, you have to then quit the program and open it again with the headset or inbuilt mic.

So, let’s say I listen to iTunes while I”m working, on my headset. I then open screencastomatic, and want to use the computer’s speakers. If my headset is plugged in when I open that program, and I pull out the headset, I have to shut screencastomatic, and reopen without the headset in. One other thing that I was told, make sure you are running waves maxx audio pro, but I ended up buying an external mic that is ideal. Otherwise, apparently Dell needs you to run this. It can be set to open on start up.

Have had awful on and off issues with cracking and popping since windows 10 update.I have fixed and updated all drivers and it would still happen – found a SOLUTION in another forum you may find useful – it worked for me 😉!! No sound in my Cambridge Soundworks 5.1, which is plugged into the rear jacks, but just fine in my headphones, which are plugged into the front audio jack. After re-booting the newly installed WIN10, I noticed that my Realtek Audio Manager was missing, and therefore all of the stuff that I had been accustomed to doing was no longer doable. Long story, short answer: WIN10 had simply failed to find/connect/re-connect/whatever Realtek, so I downloaded the newest drivers and re-booted and then UNPLUGGED and REPLUGGED all of my speaker wires and Everything works again.

No other WIN10 problems so far. Dear, I’m having an issue on my notebook’s audio (The operacional system is Win10 Professional). The sound goes with a kind of wheezing while I’m doing tasks, but it goes ok if I leave the computer. I mean: I listen to music or I use the computer. I downloaded last version of audio driver in Realtek’s website. The problem was solved, but the quality of sound was very, very low (in comparison to the original driver). How can I solve it?

When I was using Windows 7, Realtek Driver updates fixed the ‘crackling’ sound issue. But having done a clean install of Windows 10, it has come back again and ASUS have not updated their older models to windows 10 (Which I think they should have). The only passable option I have been able to use is rolling back the Realtek driver to the Microsoft ‘High Definition Audio’ driver’, it crackles less but is not a perfect solution but at least then the audio is of an ‘okay’ quality. I have a slightly different problem (but still realtek on win 10): while playing sounds through headphones, it randomly turns off (for example after pausing/unpausing on youtube, playing a video from a different website, or after not playing sounds for a while – if I continuously play music this does not seem to happen).

If I go to ‘Sound’ I can see that the device shows that music is playing (green bars appearing next to it on the right), but nothing is in my headphones. The only fix I found is to go to the Properties of the playback device, then Advanced, and change the default format.

But it is super annoying to do this every single time. Drivers are all up to date and the integrated Windows sound fix didn’t find anything.

The Headset Microphone Seems to be Working Fine. I plugged my Turtle Beach Z11 Headset into my Sister's HP that still has windows 8.1 and my Turtle Beach Z11 Headset sounded fine.

I plugged my Turtle Beach Z11 Headset into my other Sisters HP that has Windows 10 (She Upgraded from Windows 7) and my Turtle Beach Z11 Headset sounded like Mono Instead of Stereo. She also plugged in her ear buds and they sounded like Mono Instead of Stereo. I Tested another Headset my Turtle Beach P11 Headset(This Headset plugs into the USB Port) The Sound is Perfect it sounds like Stereo and not like Mono.

Hey everyone here's a update. Ever since microsoft rolled out updates for windows 10 Mainly the Driver Updates i've no longer had to use old methods such as using the old drivers from HP so far windows 10 drivers are working for my Laptop so everything is working out great. I'm still using Drivers from AMD for My APU (Processor and Graphics) but everything else is from Microsoft i've been using Microsoft's Drivers for Months now and have had no issues. Hopefully everyone else is having Success with those Drivers. OK have you tried all of the Fixes and Temporary Solution i Posted Above? Try these Fixes and let me know if that Resolved your Issue: Try this First: I tried fixing the sound here is what i tried: I Uninstalled IDT Sound Driver: I went into control panel and uninstalled The IDT Audio Driver. I then restarted my computer and i reinstalled the Windows 8.1 Drivers from HP.

After Restarting my computer again i checked to see if everything was back to normal but it wasn't everything still sounded the same. Yes i checked your Post out and i think you should try my fixes Above on the First Post and if none of that Works you might consider going back to Windows 7 (I posted how to do that above) You could also do a Reset (I posted how to do that above) But then you would lose the Ability to go back to Windows 7 unless you still have the HP Recovery D Drive then it would be easy to go back. You could also go back if you have Windows 7 on a Disc or Flash Drive.

Hopefully my fixes work let me know if they do.
